kriswaters
Is covering the bottom of one of my rocks. I pulled it out of the water to pull off some mojano anenomes and it becomes transparent. Has anyone seen anything like this before? kriswaters
Sponge? The rock is about 6" long and 4" wide and it covers the whole thing...it seems to be migrating to another right next to it. Kris
Nyles
Sounds like a sponge, I have a few that do this, they prefer to grow on the bottom of the rock where the light is not really bright.
kriswaters
Where can I go to do some research on these things. While we're talking, I have a favia brain and out of the bottom is another strange thing...It is like a maroon carpet base with pinkish tubes/branches. I will try to post some pictures of it. Nyles
Sounds to me like your tank is maturing and your getting sponges growing, I will try and take a pic tonight of one of my branching sponges, they come in all sorts of colors, green, yellow, blue, white are all common. kriswaters
Boy that pic turned out cool eh? As long as they are not harmful...I guess I will just worry about the mojano and the one aitpasia that showed up in my sun coral. Nyles
best to get rid of them asap. Longer you wait the more work it is.
kriswaters
oh yeah....I plucked out about 8 yesterday or more dug them out! Luckily the rock they were on didn't have any inhabitants, except for the devil's hand. Am picking up some pickeling lime today for the rest.
