impur
Blazers just can't break the big man curse http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3017538 http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/blog/index?name=simmons
mister crabs
Hardly a Sam Bowie yet though. bad break but he will still get to rehab this year and practice with NBA players so not a total loss. Next year he should be raring to prove himself
defigart
I agree that this will turn into Sam Bowie part II. We picked Sam Bowie over the greatest player of all times. And perhaps now we have picked another less than perfect player over someone who will shine for years in the NBA.
Michael7979
Nobody knew Jordan was going to be THAT good. We will have to wait and see.............
impur
I agree with Bill Simmons that there will be 20 more Oden's before another Durant comes along. Just too bad. On the positive side, Amare Stoudamire had the same surgery and looks to be back to almost 100%. But Bowie had the same surgery too. Its a toss up IMO. Nobody knew Jordan was going to be THAT good. No, but they said he had tremendous upside with no limit. Same things they say about Durant.
Lowman
Look at what happened in San Antonio, The Admiral went down, the spurs sucked, then they drafter Duncan, Game over. Could lightning strike twice?
defigart
Nobody knew Jordan was going to be THAT good. That is true, but we did know Sam Bowie had been having knee issues. My point was that Portland has a way of picking the "wrong guy".
mister crabs
considering both guys only played one year of college ball you really cant annoint either of them as the second coming of Jordan yet. Lets see how they fare against faster, bigger, stronger, and most importantly more experienced NBA players first. they could both be busts. never know.
