Mag continues to drop...

Been having to dose more and more mag, as of late. Been dosing 2ml of Tech M daily. When doing so, mag, pretty much stays put at 1400. Calc at 460, Alk at 8.4.

 

This morning, mag was at 1350ish.

 

Is this normal? Kinda normal (I hope)?

 

Any input would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Very normal, I was adding 15 mil a day when tank was up and running

I was just having this issue and it ended up being because my red sea mag test kit was old. I switched to a new bottle of reagent and voila. It was frustrating because I had been adding a lot of tech m to combat briopsis.

I thought, I may have been adding too much and may have been disrupting the balance, which in fact, I have to continually add to maintain balance.

15ml a day? I feel better now, lol.

Definitely, an old test kit giving false results would be frustrating! In my case, I tested with red sea and also with salifert (brand new) and both gave pretty much identical results. So, I figure it's not my test kits but my corals consuming mag.
