The ReefBox
Possibly an in balance between alk and mg leading to precipitation in the tank and calcium build up on equipment
LadySaber
I believe just cause a lot of unneeded wear and tear on mostly anything with a motor. As a kid we had well water with very high ca. I can tell you we replaced washing machines every 3 years or so and forget dishwashers. Lol my mother wouldn't spend the money that's why she had us. Ca didn't break us. Lol ok oh and the worse headache was every 10years or so having the well pump pulled out and worked on.
Lexinverts
High Ca is not something I worry about. It is much less of an issue than high alk. As an example, Unique Corals shared that their Ca got above 600 sometimes, and they don't worry about it. Exodus
Yeah I wouldn't be to worried about Calcium, when I used to use Kent Salt My Calc levels were always above 500 in my Nano tank, the only issues I had were the Calcium buildups on "Everything!!" It got so terrible I dropped a clam in to curb that issue and soon enough the calc dropped and stayed consistent.
