Some tank pics

Recommended Posts

Its been a long time since I have wanted to photograph anything in my tank.  I have been battling green hair algae for quite some time.  At one point it was a thick fur on every surface in my tank with a layer of red fur on the entire sand bed.  I am finally winning the battle and the tank is starting to look pretty dang good :fingerscrossed:

Great looking tank man! What did the trick for your GHA battle?

not sure exactly what did it.  I fed my fish half as much over the course of the last 4 months.  Water changes every 2 weeks.  Fresh carbon every 2 weeks and fresh GFO every 4 weeks.  Added a variety of snails.  Replaced the protein skimmer about 6 months ago.  It has been quite a battle.  I didn't have near the problems with my 100 gallon tank as I have battled with this tank.
