ssappington
just picked up a tank and the back is painted blue appears rollered on, but unsure what type of paint- ideas on how to get it off without damaging the acrylic? took off a small spot with goof-off and seemed OK, hesitant to use that in large quantities for fear it will fog the acrylic... will not scrape or peel off (at least not easily) ideas? wanareef
The goof off will work but any way you do it you'll have to buff it out
softy
wait... Goof Off, or Goo Gone? I would try Goo Gone first in a small area. That's what i used to take the sticker residue off of my truck. It didn't even dull the finish on my vehicle.
kireek
I would not recommended Goof off as I have seen this product melt and damage plastic. You could try using a credit card after soaking the paint for a few hours.
ssappington
ended up using a product called Mostenbockers Lift Off water based, biodegradable... it's a thick gel- brushed it on, covered it with saran wrap so it wouldn't dry out 24 hrs later that paint scraped off like jello without a trace of damage/haze/fog/crazing to the acrylic!
