dee77
With generous calculations, over nine (9) million dollars in immediate medical expenses have been created for those affected by the Colorado theater shooting this July. For some, an innocent trip to the movies has turned into a lifelong fin ancial burden as it is estimated that one (1) in three (3) Colorado residents are without healthcare. Some will need lifelong physical care, and some will need lifelong psychological care, or both, sadly. YOU can help today. NoobtoSalt
That's awesome. From what i read I the news about this tragedy many of the hospitals covered the medical expenses. Was that not true? dee77
Nope - Only a couple hospitals are covering the stays, but the people went to over 10 hospitals and not even a third are covering the bills. Also, that doesn't cover funeral costs for those killed, or Psychological help http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/mike-friends-blog/cost-care-colorados-victims#.UBtRYm1KSr8.facebook
BrianB
News reports informed us last week that three of the five hospitals where the victims were taken have said they will absorb most, if not all, of the cost of their care if they don’t have insurance
Gill
Even if the hospitals cover all the expense, some of these people will most Likly have ongoing needs. I don't know anything about the specifics, I'm just an making assumption.
dee77
Only 3/5 hospitals said they would "limit or eliminate" the medical costs. So not only have all the hospitals not eliminated the medical costs, but for most patients the costs have been limited, not eliminated. Healthcare includes the permanent care that some now require after suffering permanent injury from shooting wounds. It also goes towards funeral costs for those killed in the shooting, which average around $7000 based off of most sources In addition, it is important to provide sufficient ongoing psychiatric care for those affected. http://whatculture.com/film/the-dark-knight-rises-shooting-in-colorado-a-call-for-aid.php http://capsules.kaiserhealthnews.org/index.php/2012/07/health-coverage-a-new-part-of-the-conversation-after-tragedy/ http://whatculture.com/film/the-dark-knight-rises-shooting-in-colorado-a-call-for-aid.php
