YUP
has anyone seen in person or know anything about these two fixtures... http://www.aquacave.com/JBJ-48-TRINITY-4-x-54W-High-Output-T5-Light-Fixture-P3185C1057.aspx http://www.aquacave.com/Finnex-48-LEDT5-Combo-Aluminum-Light-Fixture-4-x-T5-21-x-LED-P2476C1058.aspx Aquacave, will match other websites, so the Finnex is only $339, just wondering if 39 bucks is worth it... ThePremiumAquarium
Both are nice fixtures but if I were you I would look in to getting a nice TEK fixture. They are built really well and have really nice reflectors. Plus they look real clean. If you want, I can show you some options if you want to swing by the shop. Give me a buzz if you would rather chat on the phone.
Nate213
You should check out used fixtures to save some $$. Many people (myself included) are switching to LED and selling off their old lights for cheap. For example I have a Current Outer Orbit Pro 2x250 MH + 4x54 T5 fixture that I expect to get around $300 for. This was a $1000 light a few years back. http://www.aquacon.com/CurrentUSAOuterOrbitT5.html Mines not ready to sell yet, but it is a good example what is out in the used market if you are looking at halides or T5. ThePremiumAquarium
Nate makes a very good point. Used fixtures can be had on the cheap and can be found in great shape. I have a few at the shop that may interest you as well.
YUP
Im trying to stay away from MH for energy consumption and would prefer to buy new... But what do you have Garrett? We talked last Wed. in your shop about TEK lights, but a little out of my price when you add in legs and bulbs:( anyone know about these guys? http://www.reeflight.com/ seems to good to be true(scary)
jadams7
Look into LEDs also. For around the same price point you could get a sweet fixture that will also be easier than halides on the electric bill. I know some guys in the area are having good luck with the Reefstar lights, maybe start looking into those. I am sure Garrett would be a great guy to talk to about LEDs as an option as well

ZachS
I can speak from experience reefstar leds are awesome!! A price you cant beat either. Prob $700ish for two leds that will cover the tank (depending on tank size) and no bulb replacement for 5+ years. I currently have a radion over my tank and it has a 50,000 hour life span at 10 hours a day I think, ill,be good for awhile also great growth on anything including sps
