drock59
I'm setting up a 110g cube tank and I am curious, if you could change anything about your set up, what would it be and why? I want to make my new tank as user friendly as possible. Thinking of putting the sump in the garage to minimize spills, expedite water changes and maintenance. Mohaynow
one thing I wish I had was doors on the sides of my stand. It would make things sooo much easier
Burningbaal
You're already fixing the thong I don't like...a 110 cube wont be 12" in any dimension...
oxx155
Going glass, external overflows, proper sump setup, and everything I can possibly hook up to my apex so that it does all the hard work. Thankfully I got the chance to make all those changes.
pledosophy
Drain pipe in the sump to the sewer system to make waterchanges fully automated.
impur
Fully automated water changes is only thing I have left to change
OwenReefin
External overflow for sure, ocean motions on my closed loop, not making a deep sand bed refugium.
drock59
I'm doing doors on the sides for sure, even though the sump is going in the garage. Speaking of garage sumps, I'm looking for ideas on how to keep temp fluctuations minimal. Oxx, I have an apex. What toys should I hook up to it? I think I have to go internal overflow. I'm not cutting my glass. Impur, do you have any links or ideas for automated water changes? Ive been thinking a lot about putting a mixing tank in the garage sump area to make water changes a snap. Great ideas!
oxx155
What ever equipment could cause a catastrophe should be hooked up to the Apex to be turned off/on as needed. Don't leave anything to chance.
aquaman30k
Redundancy! I have had ballasts, controllers and pumps go out which leads to me scrambling to fix the repair which also leads to a lot of wasted money. My biggest advice is take your time and plan out your build thoroughly. Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk
Hog Head
I would have made my first tank the largest possible tank that would fi in my house instead of upgrading 2-3 times.

Great ideas! Yah we had a thread here on it awhile back. I would do it with a masterflex pump, a litermeter, III, or one of those new Genesis systems. With one of these setup, all you need to do is refill and mix up the new salt water periodically. I searched and can't find the link though :(
