frankb
Does anybody have any experience with the copperband butterfly fish? I start having a lot of aiptasia and my Niger trigger keeps eating all of the peppermint shrimp. Please advise me what to do.
kriz2fer
I had a copperband, it died though. Stopped eating all this sudden.
NoobtoSalt
As long as you don't have many zoas or colonies large enough to loose some it should be ok. Great looking fish but I would be worried it would pick apart all of my zoas.
nhowe
Had one in a reef with no major problems. Left zoas and other coral alone. Definitely ate any feather dusters it could find. Almost preferred them over aiptasia. You have to use aiptasia killer first and let the fish do cleanup duties on smaller aiptasia. I noticed the fish will not go for large aiptasia. Did a decent job keeping the population down by eating the smaller aiptasia. I've heard they aren't the hardiest fish but I didn't have any issues with fish health. ClayTheSavageFraser
BECAREFUL!! I got one for the same reason! I got the one that was the DEVIL!! It ate all my LPS, Fans, and never touched my aptasia!! They say that is 1 in a 1000 chance, and I for one will never, ever put one in my reef tank ever!! So proceed with caution!! I lost thousands of dollars worth of coral. Clay
