WTB nano FOWLR setup

anything out there? I have a friend who's thinking of setting up a tank for her daughter. the daughter is really into starfish, so maybe after 1 year or so she could add a linkia, but initially something like a 29 gallon, maybe a 40B. a simple, non-reef light setup (2-tube VHO or T5?), and a hob skimmer or filter (maybe a Azoo Mignon?). rock/sand is the only other piece.

I think she's looking to get it all after the new year

Hey Keith,

I am constantly getting stuff in and can order whatever we can't peice together but you and her should come in and chat sometime. Maybe we could get things started on something. I have a couple of 40br drilled with 2 1" bulkheads painted black on the back available currently. They would need a stand built and since they are drilled would work best with a sump though you could easily cap the bulkheads if you want to run a HOB or canister.

Since it's just a FOWLR she might want to consider getting something cheap off craigslist. If she wants something nicer craigslist also has really nice freshwater setups with matching hood and stand for a couple hundred; this type of setup wouldn't work for a reef because the hood doesn't have enough space for the more intense lighting but would make a really nice FOWLR.

P.S. The great thing about a FOWLR is that your friend can get her daughter a chocolate chip starfish. :)

That's good thinking; sometimes people on this forum have amazing things collecting dust in their garage. ;)
