WTB T5 or MH lighting

Yah, same deal here losing color but great growth, except SPS are doing spectacular. The fixture i got isn't really made for reefs I don't think, but it was cheap.

I am considering adding a couple T5 bulbs and seeing how that does, but I'm not sure what spectrum the corals are missing from the LED setup.

I also have to consider that my frag tank is only 16" deep. I have a 250w MH setup i could use, but I'd have to hand it so high it would throw light all over the room.

WhatLED fixture did you buy?

I bought 2 fixtures from jadams. I've modified the color by blocking out some of the white LED's with pieces of electrical tape and it helped, but it's a pretty ghetto type fix. My SPS have really colored up for the most part, except for the strawberry shortcake frag I got from Westside. It has great polyp extension but no color. I've been thinking about adding some t-5's to help with the color.

I have found that the lights are a little too 'white' for my tastes also. Since then, the company has upped all of theirs to either '15k or 20k' along with a few other changes. Ours are the 12k version, which I dont think they make anymore. Great for my growth, but I would like a bit more blue out of my main display. I might try out one of the 15k's here before too long.

Yah its just so spendy still for these LEDs. If you do give the 15ks a try please let me know what you think of them.
