nhoffee
Hey all, I am looking for a rough figure on what you think it might cost you to run your complete setup with halides. For Example is $50 a month or a $100 a month. I am asking this so I have a rough idea of what it costs.
OwenReefin
To run one 250 de halide I think it costs me about 35-45 dollars/month, best guess.

Danik
I run 3 250hm and four 4' vho about 9 hours a day and it comes out about $22 for just the lights a month. My 300g display with two 4'x2' frag tanks run me about $50 all together. Power rates are super cheap in the Washington and Oregon because we have dams. I'm figuring that my 3 250. DE's and 4 VHO's run me about $100.00/mo. At least it's enough to make the wife sit up and take notice.

Barelycuda
If you tell me how many lights, the wattage, number of hours on, and your current electricity rate I can pretty much tell you exactly what they cost to run.

I dought your rates are much higher. Do the math and use your going rate, don't just quess.
city hunter
It really depends on your pud. When I was living in columbia county in an apartment, I was running 2 400w mh for 10ish hours usually and it didnt phase our power bill. We still often times hit the bare minimum charge with them. THats also with 400w computer running 23/7. We really didnt use the heat much. I dont know what it costs me in tigard now, but the power is quite a bit higher here and we use less of it..... I pay around 130 a month and there is less usage with only 1 mh and less people.Figure out what a kw costs then calculate your wat hours and you can gety an idea.
