NoobtoSalt
Has anyone done a trio of yellow tangs? I have heard that if you place them all into the tank at the same time you don't typically have issues with them. With how large the new tank is I was thinking of doing about three of these guys. What do you think?
ThePremiumAquarium
I have done it in a 210g and it worked out just dandy! I have 6 in at the shop and wouldn't hesitate for second to put 3-5 of them in my 240g if it were up and ready to go. They do pretty well together actually with really no aggression from what I have seen. I am sure there are other experiences out there but even the wholesalers keep them in groups and in the wild they school up all the time.
oxx155
I had 6 in my tank and only lost one in two years. At one time I had 12 tangs in there. I plan on about that many in the new tank, but will probably only do 3 yellows.

ThePremiumAquarium
I like to go with mediums on the yellow tangs. They seem to be the hardiest and easiest to get. They also seem to do real well together starting them at that size. Let me know if I can be of any service. I just got a small Hawaiian order in yesterday and now have 6 Yellows at the shop. Hog Head
I currentlySix tangs in my tank. One rather large Sailfin, about a 4-5 " Hippo, a Yellow eye Kole and 3 Yellows. I started with one then added the other two about a year later. There was an adjustment period for a couple of days then everyone got along just fine. The sailfin gets a little pushy with the foxface for some reason, they are about the same size (6"+) but that is about the extent of the aggresion. Also the main reason I am upgrading to a 210.
