nelsz3
Is it just my fish that like the overflow or is there others out there to, i thought i lost my new pair of black n white clowns yesterday only to find them in the very bottom of the back overflow along with the shrimp goby, rescued them with no harm but this morning i found the goby and my misbar clown both in there but they didn't make it thru the night and are no longer with us. Is there anybody else that has had this problem ? has anybody put a net or mesh over there overflow to prevent fish from jumping tank?
Smann
Most overflows have teeth to prevent anything from going over, The only exception would be large weir type but most have large reservoirs so a fish would be just fine until They can be moved back. My snails and even Sally L's like to go back and forth, lots of good food back there, usually when I get a new fish they make the trip a few times most likely when getting chased but after a few times they learn and stay away
impur
Yah i had to put some gutter guard over my overflow box to keep snails and my tigertail cucumber out of there. I eventually just put a black piece of acrylic over it so no light gets in there, this way i don't have to worry about algae or stuff growing. nelsz3
mine has teeth that sit above thewater line an a egg crate in a center chamber with a sponge on it, luckly the black n whites went under but today unfortunatly the clown an goby were on top with either not enough water or just being pinned on the egg crate all night. I hope they've learned now cause they're missing tankmates now
Smann
Maybe take a picture of it, cant really understand whats going on. My last tank the overflow teeth went up to the acrylic on the top of the tank so there was no way to get into it

CoralCrazy
I've had a few fish prefer the overflow to the tank. The last was our yasha haze goby. Unluckily for him I also have a eel and Blue spot grouper in my sump. Needless to say he became a spendy snack.
