40GallonReef
So I am having a little trouble getting my calcium to rise. I have only 4 LPS corals in a 40 breeder. My calcium stays at a constant 400. I have been dosing calcium for about a week and it has not raised (i have been dosing 2.5 Ml a day). I thought it might be because I need to dose alkalinity so I bought a KH test kit and it is at 10. I have heard this might be because of a magnesium deficiency, is this true? I do not have a test for magnesium. Thanks in advance for the help.
NoobtoSalt
possibly your mag. What salt do you use? I have found that if you use the Kent Reef salt most parameters stay consistant.
40GallonReef
I just started using the red sea Coral pro salt.
Smann
If you dont have a high demand for calcium 400 isnt that bad, you do need to balance all three though, Cal, Alk and Mag but on a 40 water changes should take care of most of that
Saltfinsax
Yea 400 isn't bad at all. I would just stay with water changes.

Bigjohnwoody
I have been using red sea coral pro from the beginning and my mag stays at 1350 with weekly 10-15% water changes. I would just keep it at 400 and be happy. Anywhere between 380-450 is perfectly fine. Consistency is going to be your biggest friend.
