WTS Showpiece corals

Hey all, long time, no post!

I've been preoccupied for the last 1.5 years or so with a lot of things, like being a new parent, and haven't had time to keep up with the forum here. I'm sad to say it's time to break down my 110 gallon tank. I have basically not done anything with it but routine maintenance for the last 16 months. The good news is, some of my corals have grown quite large and I have some nice showpieces to share with you all.

I will not be selling equipment until the livestock is taken care of.

Here is the deal: Prices are firm. If you spend more than $200, I'll give you a 10% discount off the whole order, and some of these prices are already quite low. If some items don't get interest right away, I'll drop the prices later, but please don't hit me with lowball offers.

Pick up from my house in Oregon City only. I'll be available most nights this coming week, and generally available during the weekend of the 30th.

Photos are with my point and shoot under 250W Phoenix 14k bulbs. I have done my best to represent the true colors of the coral and not jack them up with saturation, etc. Most of them actually look better than the pictures. Also, a number of them are ticked off in the photos because I did a big glass scraping and moved some things around just before the photo shoot (smart, I know).

Sizes shown are my best estimate using a plastic ruler submerged in the tank. These are just the big pieces, I'll probably post some smaller pieces later, or you can look things over when you come by the house.

OK, with that out of the way, bring on the corals!

Green monti cap - 6" x 4" x 6" - Was $100, now $85

This thing is growing on the back of my tank. Very large and nice color green with white rims.

DSCN3446.jpg

Sunset monti - 5" x 3" - Was $125, now $100

I can't get the photo color right on this thing. A nice piece I got from Isaac before he opened his shop, and it has just grown and grown since then. Frag this up and you can sell several hundred dollars worth of frags.

DSCN3442.jpg

Hammer - green w/pink tips - 6" x 5" - $100 - SOLD

I haven't counted them, but I think this thing is well over 50 heads. One of my very first corals purchased as a single head over 4 years ago. Lived through all my newbie mistakes, so it must be pretty hardy. Nice piece.

DSCN3435.jpg

Maxima clam - about 5" long - $50 - SOLD

Got this for a song, so I'll pass along a good deal. Nice purple clam with very bright blue splotches. He's a little ticked because I moved some things nearby. Yes, maximas like to sit on the rocks and but he is temporarily on the sand because I had to move some things around. I wouldn't have been able to get a shot where it previously was, anyway.

Sarcophyton - tonga yellow leather - 7" x 4" - Was $75 now $65

Nice, big yellow piece I got from Upscales a few years ago. Moves in the current nicely.

DSCN3421.jpg

Red echinopora chalice with teal splash in center - 6" x 5" - Was $250 now $200

Got this from Isaac at Seahorse a few years ago and it has doubled in size since then. Very, very nice piece.

DSCN3433.jpg

Galaxia - Green with purple highlights - $100 - SOLD

A crappy picture of a nice coral. The shape and size are weird - picture a softball with a baseball growing out of one side of it. Nice kind of deep green with burgundy wine colored highlights. Some of the bottom side is shaded out, of course. Got this as a tiny 3/4" frag from Upscales a few years ago.

DSCN3437.jpg

Red acan - 5" x 3" (I estimate 60-70 heads?) - $100 - Pending Frankb

A nice big piece of acan. You could frag this up and make a bundle. Mostly red with a little blue highlights at times. Ticked off in the picture because I had moved things around.

2 Fungia!

#1 - huge & purple (5" dia) - Was $100 now $85 - Only puts out tentacles at night.

#2 - green with orange mouth - 3" dia - Was $35 now $25 - Got this from Stylaster's fungia factory a couple of years ago. Pretty fast growing.

DSCN3444.jpg

Turbinaria - pink w/yellow polyps - 4" x 4" - $35 - SOLD

Got this as a frag from Smann a while back. I would charge more, but he practically gives his frags away so I'd feel guilty. You've probably seen these around if you've seen many PNWMAS member tanks.

DSCN3413.jpg

Trachyphylia - green and purple - 4" x 3" - $75 - SOLD

One of my first corals purchased from Seahorse. A nice, brilliant teal green with purple. Slow growing. Two mouths on this one.

DSCN3418.jpg

Scoly - Orange and green - 2" dia - $40 SOLD

Nice, bright orange and green coloration. Picked this up from Upscales a couple of years ago. Slow grower.

DSCN3439.jpg

Monti cap - red - 7" x 6" - $50 - SOLD

Got this from Danik for a great deal so I'll pass along the bargain. Huge, nice red monti (terrible picture in terms of capturing the color). Only trouble is figuring out how to mount it!

DSCN3425.jpg

Green jewel (??) - 4" tall - branches are ~ 2" wide - $50 SOLD

Got a small frag of this from Smann. Has grown well and encrusted around the base as well as branching out and up. Nice emerald green. I have no idea what this is really called, scientifically or commonly.

DSCN3419.jpg

Red chalice with green shades - 3" x 4" - Was $100 now $85

If you're into chalices, this is a great one for you - nice and big, lots of polyps. The color is really difficult to photograph and/or describe. Primarily red body with overtones of deep green. Does best in the shade.

OK, thanks for looking. I have now cleared out my inbox (sorry Calvin).

Bryan good to see you posting again. Sad to see you go but I understand. Parenting does take up alot of time. Do you have any zoos??!!!

Roger, good to hear from you. I still have a small tank with some softies in it, including a variety of zoos. The big tank had some kind of softie predator that ate all my zoos, shrooms, and ricordeas, plus a couple of fish, I think. I never caught it in action and haven't lost anything else for several months now, so it is kind of a mystery.

The green jewel which gets around by the way lol I was told by Shaun Monahan is a psammacora contigua. I got some from Kilmca who got it from Smann

Thanks for the info, Kim.
