CraigH
http://www.aquacave.com/hamilton-technology-arubabr-sun-v-2-x-48-54w-high-output-brt5-with-led-3127.html I'm returning to the hobby after a few years hiatus and I'm out of the loop when it comes to the newer equipment. Was wondering if anyone knows much about these. Talked with Garrett at The Premium Aquarium today and he is checking on some retro kits along as this one. Thanks in advance. ThePremiumAquarium
Craig, Thanks for calling and chatting. It will be good to have you back in the hobby! I just got done chatting with Aquacave and will get and email out to you as soon as they get my account going with them. Thanks!

Burningbaal
I've been thinking about switching my "new" tank (just got it-my first- from a friend) to T5 HOs, this looks like it might be a nice way to do it. I'm hoping for a somewhat mixed reef in my tank (std 55gallon), currently have some leathers and some zoanthids. do people think this might support some higher-light-requiring corals? currently I have 2x32w T12s. Also, does anyone know if the LEDs are on a different plug? I'd love to have them on a separate timer to provide a sunrise/set effect. Potentially could buy two of these, I suppose, maybe I'd buy one and see how it goes?
Burningbaal
just found one of my answers: "Includes multiple Blue LED lights on a separate power cord from the T5 lights for independent lighting control and nocturnal effect " - http://www.bluezooaquatics.com/productdetailas.asp?did=5&pid=8541&cid=
jadams7
look into some of the LED units out there now. For the same price you get a good light that the corals will love, and should be enough for most applications. Not to mention they are pretty good on the electric bill too
Burningbaal
I thought about the marineland double bright, but I'm skeptical that it has the output...anyone see it in action? also my tank is 48", and they only go up to the 36" fixture (with extenders) so I'm not sure it would light the whole tank well
CraigH
Would love to get LED's. But I can't seem to find one that is in my budget. Jadams7, would you happen to have a link or does one of the LFS's have them?
