OceanRevive
Who has Tech M in garage? I wanna try this stuff to control my turf algae. I have cash or zoa frags trade.
jennmac415
I have 2 gallon jugs of Tech M that I brought from Kansas with me when we moved...brand new....I was having a bryopsis problem before taking my tank down to move. I am going to be setting up a new 120 gallon, so I don't think I will need the 2 gallons for quite awhile...I bought them online at Fosters and Smith.. Do you have pics of your zoa frags?? TheGooseWhisperer
Weekly 10% WCs, keeping a close eye on my alk and an emerald crab knocked my bryopsis problem right out. It only took a month or 2 and I actually increased feedings during that time...I was darn near starving my fish previously though:(
OceanRevive
what i have is not bryopsis, not sure Tech-M will fix this algae, but want to give it shoot, it looks like this: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2016883&page=3 jennmac415, I will get some pictures for you today. jennmac415
Tech m is only good for bryopsis.....won't help hair algae or anything else.
OceanRevive
Reefers who had the turf algae reported a mixed results on using Tech-M, some of them confirmed the tech-m fixed the turf algae as well. I have no clue at this point, my tank is fishless now, there is no nutrition in the water, i have a MCE600 on a small 34G tank, and a GFO running 24/7. The turf algae is still happy and smiling to me on the rocks.
grassi
There are several members of our club, me included, who have pristine water and bryopsis. GFO, killer skimmers, 30% weekly wc... only Kent M seems to do the job

OceanRevive
jen, i didn't take a picture for purple death (#5), i used a online picture. 1G is far enough for me.
OceanRevive
the description i put there for the last picture, the color of the online picture looks not real, they must manipulate the color.
TheGooseWhisperer
#3 are eagle eyes prolly. do you have blue LEDs? edit: and the purple deaths in that picture arent far off of the color of mine. i would say camera settings and tank parameters are more at play than photoshop. OceanRevive
whisperer, you are correct, i think it is photoshop's credit. Yes, I do have a blue LED. i have use DSLR to take a picture of my corals, you can tweak the color temperature in photoshop to match real color.
