Electrical Quandary

Both yesterday & today when I got home from work the GFI to the tank was tripped.

Nothing added nothing changed as far as tank and or equipment goes. Judging by the timers it looks like it tripped at around 8:00 am both days. At least that's what time they stopped. No sign of water anywhere near the GFI either. All the other outlets in line work. The GFI box is mounted in my stand as a separate junction box(see pic) any idea of what could do this? power surge? Now that I think about it....the lights come on at 8:00am. I've unplugged them & put them on a separate multi strip outlet & reset the lights timer for before my wife leaves for work so she can reset it if needed.

GFI is new so I've ruled that out. I moved the lights to their own outlet strip last night & when I came home today everything was okie dokie. The timer that the lights fan is on was just a tad warm, I'm wondering if that timer is going bad & putting too much load on the GFI causing it to kick?
