Drew
Is it possible to use a Koralia 2 & 3 as a wave maker? I was looking at the "Maxi-Jet Natural Wave Timer" for a cheap solution for waves and with my existing power heads. Or is there a easier way? NoobtoSalt
I believe there are issues with the K2 and K3's on any wavemaker without using the Koralia wavemaker. The newer models will work with the wave makers now just fine (ie: 1050 or the 1400).
Drew
Dam that really sucks. I was hoping for a cheap solution... cant really afford a whole new system :(
MarkBirkett
I've heard that you cut a piece of air line tube the length of the metal rod from the prop to the outer cover and that stops the chatter from stopping and starting. Then they will work with a wave maker.
newfisher
+1 on the air line. Modifying the old ones work when you stop the start/stop chatter of the prop.
Drew
Sweet! Thanks for the tip! I will give them a try. I really want to add some kind of wave to the tank so i can watch all the soft stuff move around more Thanks guys. I will have to get it a try and maybe take some pictures for a DIY post. newfisher
I have heard that a " timed" surge protector can be set up to plug the Koralias into and when set at alternate 1 min. times, will switch current to each Koralia. When you mod the old ones and keep the impeller from slamming on the shaft, they should work ok. I remember reading a thread on this a couple years ago on RC.
