rgrcrain
I got my BRS order today and my Salifert Alk test kit was frozen almost solid. Is this going to be a problem?
Mitchell
I would email BRS and see what they say. I would be worried about the chemicals reacting differently after being frozen.
MVPaquatics
+1. I have had different responses from manufacturers. Like said above it depends on chemical composition. Stress Coat I have been told is OK. Any medication with formalin is NOT OK. Any live bacterial thing is obviously not OK. I would contact them and please post back. I would love to know Also, I usually get a few opinions, many times the salesperson has no idea.
grassi
I think all the products from Europe get the same treatment in the aircraft.
grassi
To explain my sentence better: I don't think they are sent as drugs but just standard airplane shipping with temperature below 0 celsius which is usually below the freezing point of most of the test kits elements. I have a friend in the drugs logistics and I know the cost of shipping would be huge for this kind of product/market

MVPaquatics
I just used it and it seemed to work fine. Do you have a test you are testing it against? Just using it and getting normal numbers isn't a sure fire way, why even test then if it is based on assumptions?
rgrcrain
The API was around 10 and the Salifert was 10.2. It also comes with a solution that is 7.2 to calibrate it.
