Mohaynow
I was moving some rocks around in my tank today and found some small snails hiding under some rocks. Im not too sure what they are and would appreciate some help. I looked here and they appear to be collinista snails which they say are harmless but a second or third opinion is always good to have. thanks
Rick
Looks like tiny turbos to me. Are they about 3/16 or 1/4 of an inch? If so they are a good thing.
Mohaynow
yea they are about that size. Thanks for the help Rick!
NoobtoSalt
Sure looks like the same kind of snail I'm taking down for Jody tomorrow. might want to research it out a little more. Probably harmless turbos but still don't want to worry about your palys and zoas.
Rick
Sundial (Heliacus) snails are a bit larger. Around 1/2 to 3/4 inch. The pattern is a bit different too. http://www.gastropods.com/2/Shell_10032.shtml FWIW, I have a bunch of the tiny turbos (collinista) which look just like the picture above.
