AquaticEngineer
Any suggestions for a decent small cost efficient pump to run on a single drain, single return, closed loop? I have Rio 2500 sitting in the garage, I know its not an ideal pump to use, but I was curious if anyone has ever used the rio pumps externally? Will it just over heat and crap out? If you have a small external pump sitting around hit me up (clap)
Rick
I have a Mag 2 (250 gph) that might work. I found it in the overflow of my new tank where it was running as a closed loop on one of the returns.
Trautman
i have a little giant, its 1300 gph i think. i will sell it dirt cheap its the 4 mdqx-xc i think... needs a few parts, otherwise you will be golden. if you don't want this pump, go to a farm supply store, or harbor freight. they have good pumps that will work out well for you
Rick
I have a 500 GPH little giant laying around also. (3E-12N) It pulls 200 watts though so it definately isn't what I would consider cost efficient. I've been using it for water changes and such.
