R-3 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Does anyone on here play paintball? I havent played regularly in 12 years. I went with a couple friends last week and had a blast. We also me some of the Naughty Dogs (a local team that is in the top 5 teams) We played on there practice field. Man those guys can rip. I think I might wana get back into it a little so I was just wondering if anyone played. Later Ryan Quote
mister crabs Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I have played extensively in the past....not in the last 2 and a half years though. I sold my paintball marker and HPA tank and my barrel kit about a year ago. Eventually I want to get back into it. Its an expensive hobby tho and balancing two expensive hobbies is hard to do. Quote
ringwurm Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 My friends and I have a scenario/woodsball team and play at least once a month. www.dirtyforce.com Quote
Ronjunior Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Do nerf guns count? When I was a teenager, we would just make our own blow darts out of needles, pins, yarn and straws....back in the days before nerf guns and lasers:) I've always wanted to try out paint guns, but didn't want to spend the cash on something I may not keep up with. I'll bet it hurts less than our bedroom wars when I was a kid....stupid I know, we didn't even use goggles . Are these something you can rent for an outing? Quote
mister crabs Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 most paintball stores will rent you all the equipment to go out and play. check the phone book for local stores in area. most require a credit card deposit though. Quote
Nyles Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Sounds fun, one of my brothers is into it, but never tried. Afraid it will cost me as much as my other 8 hobbies. :( Quote
mister crabs Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 lol...it probably would.....when i was really into it i spent around $1200 for the gun and about another400-500 on the high pressure tank and mask and barrels and stuff. and then when i played every weekend or every other weekend it was about $100 for paintballs alone. spendy but lots of fun! R-3 Posted December 26, 2006 Author Posted December 26, 2006 Yeah ive looked around and you can get some pretty sweet guns now for under $400. Even some decent ones in the $250 range. Tanks are all under $200 now. But Paintballs are still about $40/ 2000. Im lucky to have a LPS (local paintball store ) that the Knuth brothers of Naughty Dawgs owns. They are pretty cool guys. Remember there is always used stuff too that is cheap PBNATION.COM .Theres a new one called the Ivert Mini that is pretty cool. Ill be getting one! Later Ryan Quote
WAVES Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I just bought an Ion, Im a paintball noob but picked up what seems to be a pretty kicken gun. Im game to play with anyone available on Mondays http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330108465384&sspagename=ADME:L:AAQ:US:1 Quote
nanofaiery Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Well I figured I'd revive this thread rather then start my own. So anyone still play? Quote
downhill_biker Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I usually play once a month, sometimes we only get out every couple months. i am not into speed ball or indoor ball. we have several acres that we have set up as an outdoor course. we have bunkers, plywood walls, stone walls, wooden fences, a creek, ect. i have a diablo ar-1 with halo-b hopper and love it. painball is a great sport. Quote
nanofaiery Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Awwwww your way out there.....(sad) I'm with you on the speedball and indoor. Although speedball is great when me and the hubby are on opposite teams (plotting). We are looking at getting back into the sport, haven't played since we moved up here. Right now i got an Ion w/ halo hopper, but I wanna upgrade. Not sure to what as of yet. Quote
downhill_biker Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 personally i am not into full auto, just a waste of paint imo. i would choose something that is a quality semi auto and 3 round burst. i play with a couple guys that run full, and they go through 2x the paint and i get them out more than they do me. it is about the accuracy and the skill of the player more than how many balls are flying. Quote
nanofaiery Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I agree. We normally use about 1 case each when we go out. My fave gun is my Spyder, I've got a sniper barrel on it. I love to gogg people!!! Best of all is after a game when I walking off the field with someone that I gogg'd and I take off my mask and they realized they got taken out by a chick . Quote
WAVES Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Id like to play,, but never get a chance because everyone only seems to play saturday afternoon. Ive got a souped up Ion but Ive never used it for a real battle. Ive got access to lots of acreage in Wilsonville... Quote
TAD Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Someone should try and coordinate a game. Just remember not to shoot me. Quote
nanofaiery Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Aww you can't say we should coordinate a game and then say not to shoot you..... Quote
spectra Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Have not been out in over a year but all the gear is in the closet(plotting) Quote
R-3 Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 Im ready! Where is there in the Portland area to go?? Quote
TAD Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Aww you can't say we should coordinate a game and then say not to shoot you..... Cause I am old and fat, it just wouldnt be a challange. But it would be fun. If someone were to set it up and I had the day off I would try to make it if I could rent the stuff. I can become the SSFN {Super Stealthy Fat Ninja} Quote
downhill_biker Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 just went paintballing today. it was a blast, when it wasn't raining. we had teams of 6 on 6, and played for about 6 hours at our outdoor course. i need a new gun though, mine is giving me problems again and i am getting sick of it. i think i will get a tippman a-5 with a flatline barrel. sometimes you just cant beat a simple design that works every time. some of this electronic, fancy crud is not worth the hassle. My knee is messed up. I've got the gimppy run (help), so I'm pprobably more of a target then a SSFN. Can't be too stealthy when you can't crouch down. DOH! Quote
TAD Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I just saw the origanal date of this thread 12-2006 lol a blast from the past. Quote
TaeKwonDude Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Hey guys, it's starting to warm up now...if there is any available open acreage that anyone has (nudge nudge Joel), we dont need to pay field fees and we can get cheap paint... Quote
WAVES Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Im game, as long as its not during business hours! actually Jordan and I are going to start alternating sundays, so Ill have some sundays available. Mondays and Thursdays are better. My folks have 32 acres in wilsonville, its heavily wooded but there are lots of paths and trails etc. There is also a swamp and a pond, so its easily divided into a smaller section, maybe about the size of a football field. There is also a blueberry field next door, that might be fun shooting down the rows etc. If anyone else is game Ill try and make something work. Only concern is air,,, i have a scuba tank, but no adapters to fill PB bottles. Quote
