BrianB
Oh yeah also should it have a bluish tint when rinsing and a faint chemical smell?
Rick
Might be a stupid questions but I feel like I have been rinsing forever. How long should I rinse. I would just rinse it a fewtimes to be sure the bulk of the powdery residue is washed away to keep it from spiking the calcium in the tank. No matter how much you rinse it your going to cloud up the water some when you put it in the tank which will usually clear up in a day or so. Rick
Oh yeah also should it have a bluish tint when rinsing and a faint chemical smell? There are no chemicals in it other than Calcium Carbonate and a small amount of Magnesium Carbonate.
BrianB
might have been either the mag or calcium I was smelling do either have any odor?
Rick
might have been either the mag or calcium I was smelling do either have any odor? I know calcium does. When I mix kalkwasser (which is basically a water soluable version of the same thing) it has a fairly strong odor to it.
Rick
Just a quick bump. There is still one person that needs to conatact me about picking up sand (half-astronaut). I also still have about 550 lbs. of sand here if anyone else wants any. I plan to return any that isn't sold tomorrow. I will still be able to get the remainder if no one else gets it first but it will cost more to do so.
