Light bulb question

So I have a 24g nano cube with a K2 Viper 150w MH lamp.. currently it has the stock 10k bulb in it..

 

I'm looking for a more blue light and from what i've red the best seems to be the Phoenix 14k bulb. What do you guys think? I'm pretty new to saltwater so is this a good bulb? Will it give me a more blue look to the tank? What kind of corals will I be able to grow under it.. and if it is a good choice what is the best/safest place to buy them?

everyone seems to love that bulb. i use cheap 20k bulbs over my tank. If you want a more blue look, I would look into a 20k. As far as what you can keep, I would think that light should be able to support almost anything.

I used to use the cheap 20K but they dont have near the blue that the Phoenix I switched to has-

 

I just got a new HQI for my frag tank and will switch to the 14K Phoenix once I have the cash.

 

 

If it was me, I would go Phoenix even the cheap 20K bulbs were 25.00 each, and I think I saw Phoenix for 50.00 if you buy 3-I'll look to see if I bookmarked that site

If you talk to some of the LFS they will sell them for $60 a piece as well. I will be in the market soon for the bulbs as well and have found them as low as $50 with purchase of 3 with free shipping. Good price but if something goes wrong with the bulb you have to ship it back vs taking it back to the LFS. Me I say it's worth the extra $10 a bulb.

Hey thanks all for your replys.. 60 bucks at a local store sounds good to me I've always hated buying something then waiting 3+ days to get it haha. I'll see if I can't find a store by me that has one in stock.

SWF on Sandy will do that price, I believe that is what I paid for the 2 I got from him, it may have been 65.00 dont recall

I'm 10 minutes away from him and you can swing by and grab that frag of Fire and Ice if you still want it-I found both frags and they are ready to go.
