jackaninny
...and have a Brute full of water I'm wondering what others do to move the RODI water to another container for mixing saltwater. A small pump? Hose? Dip buckets in and transfer?
Nate213
Maxi-Jet MJ1200 with the clear hose off a Python. I dont know what size ID hose it is, but it fits snugly over the discharge of the MJ.
lewisriverfisherman
i use a small pump to put all my water fresh water in buckets/jugs. that way i always have water on hand if i need to mix salt water in a short period of time.
gradth
I have mine set up high and tapped in a ball valve with a hose coming out of it. I to fill up water jugs and keep plenty handy. Then i just bring the jugs into another garbage can to make up my salt water. My tank burns like 5 gallons a day, so I have to stay up on my water making. Ku'ulei
When I use my Brute trash can, I use a pump to transfer the RO water into a 7 gallon jug so that I can easily carry it into my house without hurting myself. I then empty the jug into a 14 gallon tub next to my tank and do my mixing/cooking of the saltwater right there. When the saltwater is at the right temperature and salinity, I use a vacuum to drain my tank into the empty 7 gallon jug (that way I know exactly how much I took out of the tank); and then use the pump to transfer the new saltwater batch into my tank. mrgreenthumb
pump and tubing!! I'm lazy! I used to do the buckets not now, I have it marked on my tank exactly how low it needs to be for my 30 gallon water change. I think twenty feet of 1/2in tubing and a pump ran me under $25. worth every penny!
ReeFit
mine goes into a 5 gallon bucket with a float switch and a gate valve with hose that can fill up 5 gallon or a 55 gallon water barrel mixing station with circ pump which also has valving to allow for direct tank fillup. BrianB
I am working on a few projects and one is my water station. I have a white 165 gallon barrel and a blue 55 gallon barrel. The 165 will be used for R/O water and the 55 gallon for mixing salt. will post pis in a week or so when I am finished.
Smann
I only keep a 55g with salt for AWC and have my Ro/Di unit on a solenoid/controller to come on daily to keep a 30g half full for the ATO which is gravity fed to a float or Maxi12 on controller to the same. I have to fill the 55/salt twice a month, just pull the tube for a day and then back in to the 30g
Fishoutofwater
I used a bulkhead at the bottom side of my 55 gallon barrel with a double union ball valve and some pvc to make a spiket.
