ringwurm Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 My clarkii clowns have been in their new tank for a while and they liked to sleep together near the bottom of the overflow. I finally found a good BTA and added it to the tank but only the female is hosting in it. The male is back in the old spot and will not get close to it. Is this normal behavior? Quote
Michael7979 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 How long have you had the BTA? Might just take alittle time for the male to move in........... Quote
Nyles Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 If the female accepts the male it will slowly let it get closer after it establishes dominance. But it will want to make sure that it is "The boss" this is typical of a female. Hopefully in the next few months she will let him in. Could be as soon as a few days to, or never. Quote
ringwurm Posted December 15, 2006 Author Posted December 15, 2006 Thanks for the replys. The BTA has only been in the tank for a week. Hopefully that bossy woman will let him into the house. Quote
oldbrownies Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 I noticed something similar with my Clarkiis, but when the female finally let him near the anemone she would only let him sit underneath the rim of the anemone, never in the tentacles. Maybe its a clarkii thing. How big is the Anemone and the clarkiis? maybe its just not big enough for the two of em yet? Quote
ringwurm Posted December 17, 2006 Author Posted December 17, 2006 I'll see if I can get a picture tonight. Quote
