reefgeek84 Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Ok, so I tried to set up my CA reactor and the valve I got just lets out the co2 on the side...It is a mil. dual gauge sol. valve. I bought it used, and it came with no instructions...so how do I stop it from coming out the side? Quote
nu2reef-n Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Is the small washer like o-ring in place? You have to have a seal between the regulator and the CO2 tank, otherwise it will leak. Quote
reefgeek84 Posted December 13, 2006 Author Posted December 13, 2006 No it is off the side...this is where... Quote
reefboy Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 i hate to say this but i think you will need a new regulator it shouldnt be leaking there. Quote
R-3 Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 By the looks of the pic that allen head bolt looks like its stripped a little. Has someone opened that up to repair it? I have the same reg and it doesnt look like that. Can that be tightened. It shouldnt be leaking from there like Jody said. Later Ryan Quote
reefgeek84 Posted December 13, 2006 Author Posted December 13, 2006 It is a pressure relief valve...when I have the black knob opened it does not leak...so i think everything is ok with that...I am having an issue with the pump on the reactor... Quote
impur Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Try some teflon tape on those threads, that should stop it. Whats the issue with the pump on the reactor? Quote
reefgeek84 Posted December 14, 2006 Author Posted December 14, 2006 Try some teflon tape on those threads, that should stop it. Whats the issue with the pump on the reactor? There is a cover piece on the inlet side, that surrounds the inlet pipe, when that is locked into position it only spins every few seconds, like it is to tight...if I undo the piece and pull it slightly out it works like a champ. if I unplug it and plug back in, it will not work until i unlock that piece and and pull it out slightly . I know this is not an issue with their pump, because I have a big version of the same pump on my skimmer and there is not that issue at all...So I am waiting to hear back from Joel on what I should do... impur Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Sounds like maybe the Oring that seals the volute could be old and stretched. Is the pump used? Maybe try replacing that Oring. What kind of pump is it? Quote

Ronjunior Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Got your lights and picked up dual blues for myself. That red looks like it will definately brighten it up quite well just in time for Christmas! Those block ends are 5/8" and it comes with velcro if you trust that above the tank...I don't....so screw it, literally! Oh, and he sold his reef tank to an employee so it was long gone for viewing :( Quote
