reef165 Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 Yes, I will be putting the center brace back in, ya can see whare it was. Its been out for a couple years but I feel it need's it so its going back! Here's some pic's of the stand and sump. The stand needed some miner fixen, mainly just a good bath. Quote
reef165 Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 I am hoping to get it in place tomorrow. Quote
coralreefer Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Excellent!! Keep postin'...I gonna keep followin'... I love these build threads... DrMerle Quote
Arsonmfg Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Nice! I recognize that tank =) Good plan on putting the center brace back in, the glass on there looks to thin to be safe trimless with no center brace. The last thing you want is 150 gallons of saltwater flooding your house! Quote

The last thing you want is 150 gallons of saltwater flooding your house! Have you seen the tank of were you the original owner ? I know the previous 2 owners. If not whare did ya see it? Ya, It's 1/2 inch glass, Ive seen it full of water without the center brace and it really doesn't bow out but I just am one that side's on caution and likes the overbuilt policy! Quote
ThePremiumAquarium Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Honestely I think it is probably plenty thick but better safe then sorry so to speak. Nice score!!! I am excited to watch the build. Congratulations on getting a nice large tank! Quote
pledosophy Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Damm you move fast, already water in the thing. Nice work! Quote
reef165 Posted December 2, 2009 Author Posted December 2, 2009 Well, it had water in it 2 days before I got it so to be fair I didnt halfto do much but clean it all up and do a little fixen on the stand. Plus with all my livestock in my small sump I was in a hurry to get them into the tank. here's a pic of the tank just before I tore it down to move it. Quote
reef165 Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 Pic of my clown school, I have 8 but am thinking I need to get rid of 6 of them. Quote
reef165 Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 An update on my tank. The rocks and corals are waiting till the DIY rock is ready for the tank before they go to there final resting place. The tank is now lit with 4-48 inch VHO's and T-5's are coming, half ( 4 ) T-5's tomorrow and the others coming soon I hope. Quote
reef165 Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 The clown school was dismantled, they all started fighting and I lost (they died) 4 of them. I kept one and traded the others. Quote
reef165 Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 Got and installed half of my new light's today. Here's some pic's Quote
reef165 Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 so much more light!!! I cant wait to get the other 4 T-5's!! Quote
reef165 Posted February 14, 2010 Author Posted February 14, 2010 New addition, a PS-3000 kinda overkill for my tank but I dont beleave in to much skimming. Quote
stylaster Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 looks great, no problems making the transition? Quote
reef165 Posted February 14, 2010 Author Posted February 14, 2010 With skimmers, no. It took about a day for the skimmer to produce skimmate and then I adjusted it and it's working so good! I've already got about a 1/4 inch of green / brown slury in the collection cup after only one day of post adjusted skimming. I must say I'm loven the new skimmer! Quote
andy Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 New addition' date=' a PS-3000 kinda overkill for my tank but I dont beleave in to much skimming.[/quote'] +1 Over-skimming means you can stop under-feeding (rock2) Quote
reef165 Posted June 11, 2010 Author Posted June 11, 2010 Haven't updated in quite a while so here's some eye candy, I also just made and installed my ATO, it is just under 7 gallons in res. Quote
