Michael7979
The wife has an older ACER laptop, maybe 3 years old. It just doesn't work anymore. Is there anything that can be done for it? Or is it junk? (I know Acer isn't the best- so no jokes) Acer Aspire series 5050 Model #ZR3 Any ideas if it can be fixed? And if so how much? Michael7979
To make matters worse.... the password escapes us too.
nwcoralfarm
Without the password you will have to reinstall the operating system. Saying that it doesn't work is too vague, does it beep, turn on for a moment, do anything at all? Is it possible that it is the battery, if it does a power up and then fails it is most likely your hard drive or memory. Acer is the best(Rim) thank you, I'll be here all night:) Give me a run down on what it is doing and I can talk you through the process of fixing it, assuming it is fixable (most likely is) just a matter of how much you want to put into it. impur
Walmart just had a 15.6" HP laptop for $298 over the weekend. I'm sure there will be just as good or better deals on black friday. I would keep an eye on bfads.net and slickdeals.net till you find the one you want and go for it. A 3yr old computer is obsolete.
Rick
Need to know what is wrong with it before we can say whether it can or cannot be fixed. I just glanced at the specs on it and they are respectable for a 2 or 3 year old laptop. I would stick with it before buying a budget machine if it's just a matter of wiping the drive and reinstalling.

Michael7979
I'll have to ask the wife when she gets home if she knows where the restore disk is at. I'll start there I guess.
