reef165 Posted November 4, 2009 Share Posted November 4, 2009 So with the DIY rock dose the same rule of lbs. per gallon apply? the 2 I made weigh alot but arnt that big so I was curious if once there ready and I put them into the tank if Im going to need more or not. Rocks that are more dense will have less surface area (places for organisms to grow) and therefore it will take more weight and volume to get the same benefit. impur Posted November 4, 2009 Share Posted November 4, 2009 I don't think there is a rule for lbs of rock per gallon. I have maybe 50lbs in my 75gal and 0lbs in my 29gal frag tank.
