cwinson85
Starting an Electrical Engineering program at PCC next term and im looking to get into a new Calculator... Dont think my ti84 is going to be cutting it much longer. Big question is do i go with Ti89ti or this new Ti nspire??? nspire looks cool but not sure how reliable it is yet? Let me know if anyone has used one....
dsoz
W just bought my son (soon to be a math major in college) a TI voyage 200. It was a little spendy (close to $185 at wally-world online was the best price that I could find). I was told that it should last him the four years of college being a math major... If he doesn't leave it somewhere or have it stolen. You may want to skip the middle step and jump to the biggest, baddest calculator that you can get your hands on. dsoz
steelhead77
I used a TI 89 for my ME classes and I loved it. It will do pretty much anything you need it to do. You might want to check with the school though. In some classes the TI 89, and some of the more advanced programmable TI calculators, are not allowed to be used on tests. cwinson85
Yeah, i think im going to go with the 89. i found one for 50 bucks. cant pass that up.... i also have an 84 now so if there are restrictions on the 89 i would imaging the 84 will be ok.... steelhead77
That's exactly what I did. The 84 is enough like the 89 so you know how to use it, but is not advanced enough to be banned by the teacher.
