CA2OR
Now this is pretty weird on it's own. I have often wondered about what would happen if 2 different zoa's met. The answer is they start creating their own polyp, kinda like a mix. Let me show you The ones with the arrows are the original colonies that met...if you look at the middle of the 2 you will see a morph. Orange skirt with silver center....guess I made my own zoa I am assuming that it doesn't happen with all zoa's as the watermelons to the right haven't followed suit with making a unique zoa. Here is another pic to give you a better idea of the 2 zoa's in question
theJenchild
I also have a couple of random polyps that don't match their colonies. I believe that one particular colony used to be next to a different flavor of zoa and may be the cause of my "oddball" polyps. Pretty cool though! CA2OR
so not all zoa's will do this? Interesting. Might have to start experimenting.
Rick
I have a colony where part of the polyps were a different color and over time they develop into the same color as the rest. This particular colony is purple and the oddball polyps start out light green and turn purple after awhile. Keep an eye on the orange ones and see if the centers turn orange over time. CA2OR
well they should be changing black but I will be looking. I just posted a new thread that I think I may take the idea from for my new project. Just as an addition to my current rock and what I pick up from DJ_Giantti. stylaster
i have seen pics of a guy that took a purple death and nuclear green and actually cut them in half and had them grow together again very cool. but he said that only one did that out of trying many different times
CA2OR
yeah I would think that letting it just happen would work out better.
