shaywood
I'm using Kalk solution in my ATO which uses a float valve in my sump. Is it normal to get a white crusty build-up on the top of my sump water.
chewie
Yes. And more importantly, the calcium buildup in the valve itself. Make sure to clean(vinegar) regularly.
lonny.
What type of ATO is it. I have an osmolator. Kalkwaser is really hard on the pump so I bought a spare pump from brs. They're only like around $20! Cheap insurance. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Also, you can pump through a kalk reactor and that really cuts down the wear and tear on your pump as it only pumps RODI water.

Glad to hear someone has set theirs up this way - I was just debating trying this very thing! It's a great way to go, I know several who do this. Some really successful veterans like Roy / Stylaster.
