Jack-the-reefer
Check out this little guy I picked up from Jeff last week. He's such a cool fish. I've been wanting one for a long time.

Jack-the-reefer
He's an angler, the little white spot on his head in the first picture is his lure. It comes out a few inches and he waves it around to attract food. It's so cool to watch! LadySaber
So what are you feeding him her?
Jack-the-reefer
Ghost shrimp for now. I'm working on getting him eating frozen food. He's showing a little more interest every time I try.

Jack-the-reefer
He just took his first frozen food! Apparently, they'll eat anything that moves if you wait until lights out when they have they're lure out. This is awesome news for me! I can sustain a much healthier long term diet for the fish this way. I'll be feeding mainly small pieces of frozen tilapia, plus some scallops and clams. spectra
What size tank is it in? Any other inhabitants? Jason at OIAB had a brown and white one last time I was in.
Jack-the-reefer
It's in my 40 gallon. There's a few peppermint shrimp and a bicolor blenny. This is the same species as the one Jason has, just a different color. His is close to full size, mine is only half that. The shrimp will be dinner at some point. I'm hoping the blenny is smart enough to stay away.
Jack-the-reefer
That shrimp is going to be dinner someday.

Jack-the-reefer
I'm pretty sure that bloated belly means I'm missing a shrimp. I can't believe it, they are bigger than he is!

spectra
Been reading up on these little guys and they are interesting......I am thinking of getting one now. How often do you feed?
Jack-the-reefer
Every other day usually. Overfeeding is dangerous for them, so you have to be careful. Little dummies will just keep eating even if they don't need to.
