Paratore
After taking down my display I decided to set up a frag tank! So here is my thread to show you guys what I'm up to and for myself to track growth. This tank was built on a budget as most of you can tell but it gets the job done and I'm happy with it so far The tank is a 75 gallon with a 40 gallon sump. Now also have a 40 breeder tank attached. The tank is 48x30x12H sump is 55 gallons Equipment 2- Ocean Revive T247 LEDs(one on each tank) 1- Radion xr15 gen 4 over half of the frag tank SWC 160 Cone Protein Skimmer Rio 1100 return pump (need to upgrade soon) RW-8 for flow Multiple power heads in sump to keep the water moving around the live rock ATO is gravity feed from a 5 gallon bucket that is connected directly to my RO/DI unit Apex runs pretty much everything. The stand was build with and open design for easy access. Then it got a paint job Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited March 26, 2017 by Paratore
Paratore
Next, I placed it in the fish room and started gathering everything for the plumbing. The drains are 1.5 inch PVC Next, the return line was plumbed with 1 inch flexible PVC and cut down to 3/4 inch at the T. The return flow to both sides of the tank and have screw in elbows so that I can move the direction of flow. Paratore
Now it's time to add water! I used a hose to pump about 60 gallons of water out of my dads 180 to start it off with "mature" water. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Paratore
The last thing I did today was finish adding water (ro/di is sooo slow) and install the lights. So excited to add fish and corals eventually. Thinking of putting a yellow tang and some kind of pest control, ideas?? Paratore
Slowly beating down the algae outbreak all over the egg crate! Its almost gone! Today day I added a chiller to the system because it was having about 3 degree temperature fluctuations. Now the tank holds a steady 78 degrees! I've also added a bunch of new frags over the last few days along with a small yellow tang to be on the patrol for algae. And last, some phone pictures of a few frags. Paratore
Looks good what lens did you get and for what iPhone? This is the lens I got, it went up a couple bucks but it works really well. Only down side is that you have to be within and inch from the coral for it to focus. I use it on my iPhone 6 but I think you could use it on any of the iPhones. Paratore
oct 17 you posted macro pics, what are the #5 and #7 corals?#5 are rainbow Sakura zoas! (So bright in person)#7 is the Armageddon paly! It's more of a pink/orange in person. My phone doesn't do the coral justice.
