  1. Oh, I didn't know that. I met him at Cuddlefish and he showed me a picture of his tank. It was waaaay cool.
  2. That is a custom AGE glass hybrid tank. That was PDXmonkeyboy's tank. He built the stand himself. That dude is a god, but he got booted from the forum.
  3. Instructions from Ocean motions on how to lube the unit. May just be stuck from sitting. They are REALLY high quality motors and I doubt that there is a problem. Maintenance is fairly simple..remove the two screws that hold the grey motor mount to the black lid.. then remove four screws that hold the black lid to the main body, remove the black lid sometimes the drum comes with it sometimes not ,extract the drum, temporarily put the motor back on to the black lid and if the drum did not come out with the lid then reinstall it below. Holding the motor in one hand rotate the drum to 45 degrees in the other hand to separate the magnets. Wipe down all components, apply Dow Corning 111 to either side of the black lid (you can substitute with KY jelly or Vaseline)though Dow Corning 111 is the best. Re-assemble and you are good to go.
  4. I have a pretty robust central air unit, I should talk to my HVAC guy about some large dehumidifier or recirculating setup. I will reach out to this cuttlefish guy. Thanks for all the tips!!
  5. I would love to ask my friends "hey, can you help me move my 1,000 gallon tank!
  6. yeah, I agree the coral insert looks very "cheesy".. not sure of the right word. I talked to the guy and he said the tan and stand were made by AGE. Three sides are special clear glass. Starfire? The coral insert was apparently like $7k. So I think I could get the tank for somewhere in the $10k range. Everything is actually brand new. I would like to get tank, fish and some easy corals. I basically have $50k to spend on it. It would go in my man cave room which is 20 feet wide and 20 feet long. I really like that it is soo long, I think it would look dramatic.
  7. I have been looking for a saltwater aquarium and this one caught my eye. I can have it shipped to me for a little under $800. Seems like a nice tank. This is my first tank though so any advice is appreciated. I have been making a list of equipment that would be needed. Seems like I will need a big pump and heaters. I would also like to get one of those neptune computers. thoughts>? And thank you!! https://giantaquariums.com/2020/02/24/1000-gallon-with-custom-insert-20000-tulsaoklahoma/
  8. how do you see inside a plywood tank? I don't understand
  9. Hello there, A friend in portland told me about this site. Hopefully there are some Tacoma people around. I dont have a tank yet, but I want to start out with a pretty big tank. Something like 1,000 gallons. I dont see many tanks like that around. Is that too big?
