  1. This is really a temp tank until we remodel our house in a couple years. I have a 580 glass (114x36x32) waiting for that in the garage. I also have a fish room in my garage with a 190, 100gal frag tank, on a 150 gallon sump. Just picked up a frag trough to replace the 100. It’s 8ftx2ftx1ft tall. Duane is half the combo that did the aqua scaping talk with Mark Levisom at Reefworx.
  2. Duane Oestreich helped me scape it and it’s scaled very similar to his set up. His tank is a very tall yard stick to work up too when it comes to sticks. With close to 10000 gallons of flow potential I’m not too worried about dead spot, especially using the BRS Gyre code for the Apex/Gyres. There are planned areas of high and low flow to allow for a great variance of coral shapes and forms. Once all the gyres are in and the Icecap Gyre to Apex boxes arrive I will post a few vids.
  3. Oh missed the water movers, 4 Maxspect Gyre , I have 2 280s and 2 250. They will be controlled through the Apex with icecap modular and using a modded BRS programming schedual. Its going to take a bit, have the next three weekend booked with out of town trips with the dogs and judging. But it helps keep me calm while it cycles. Did get to order a few new toys tonight. A Avast Skimate locker and a Maxisun refugium light. I use both of these in the fishroom and love them. Having a friend help me build a long narrow ATO container for behind the tank to save space and a couple overflow guards to keep those wrasses in the tank.
  4. I plan to stock it with $$$$, also known as sticks. Fish wise lots of wrasses and smaller fish. Only big fish will be a couple tangs and either a or of Watinabi or masked angels.
  5. Hello all, so many of you have seen this tank. From what I hear it’s been around Portland for awhile and now it’s North of Seattle. 250gallon Envision acrylic tank (72x36x25tall) on a steel stand. 4 chamber sump (55x22x16tall) Reef Octopus Redal 250ss skimmer Reef Octopus CR3000 calcium reactor with carbon dozer regulator and 20lb bottle Reef Octopus BR140 Bio Pellet I use this as a multi-purpose reactor running carbon/Geo/pellets as needed Reef Octopus VarioS8 return pump. Full Apex system 4x CTLite G3 270watt LEDs and 4 60”T5 retrofits Here are a few cloudy tank shots. Duane Came over and helped me scape the beast. Now comes the long wait for tank to settle and cycle.
  6. Sorry everyone something came up this week that has keep me very busy. A opportunity to do one of my favorite things. Look through lots of aquarium equipment. Long story and if I see you in person I can tell the tale. Lol im not always the beat with pics. Mostly because I suck at taking good one. Here is a couple from my current fishroom set up. It’s is going to be going through a overhaul in the next month. This is getting switched around to a frag trough 8ftx20”x12” tall. The 190 and glass frag tank are both splen for already. Constant flux around here. E6E5F598-2FCC-4DAC-BEAC-AB04503D1B8B.MOV
  7. the 580 will eventually replace the 250 in the house. So I can never truly count the two together for volume.
  8. Im thinning the collection a bit with the inclusion of the new 250. Taking the 190 out of the fishroom and selling the frag tank. Replacing it with a 96x20x12 frag tank in the next couple weeks. My goal for the frag system in to not have to frag corals out of the display until they get overgrown and need a trim. Duane up here does that and it really seems to keep his stock very healthy and his 220 display is hard to argue against!
  9. Haha you need one, were expecting a litter soon :). They are kinda funny, more like a dog in a lot of ways, but still some kat in them.
  10. Hello new to the site but not reefing! Located North/East of Seattle I’m Monroe WA. About me 41yr old machinist. Originally from Mary’s Home MO. Married to my awesome wife Nicole. We have one very mischievous 3yr old little girl Aria. Also at the house is our 6 dogs and 3 Spinx cats. Current tanks include a 70gallon frag tank, 190gallon reef tank. Those two are connected to a 150 gallon sump in my fishroom. Newest addition is a 250 gallon Envision acrylic tank that’s getting picked up this Sunday. This will be the new in house display tank. I also have a 580gallon DSA tank that’s resting comfortably in the garage awaiting a home remodel we plan to do in the Summer of 2020. I love all corals but SPS are the closest two my heart. Looking forward to meeting and or conversing with you all about this great hobby. thanks Zach
