  1. I can do it. Do we want to set a price limit on the white elephant gifts? Do we want to request only reefing-related items? I propose we hand out a white raffle ticket to each person who brings a gift, then randomly draw the ticket numbers to decide who picks each gift. Limit the number of times a gift can be stolen to 2 so it doesn’t drag out too long. Thoughts?
  2. Whoever ends up with this clownfish pair, I hope they find a good home. These were the very first fish I ever had, originally purchased from Cuttlefish & Corals in May 2018, and they hold a special place in my heart. @HereFishy got them from me in May when I shut down my tank. Here's a post from 2018 when I first got them: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/suncrestreefs-red-sea-reefer-xl-425-build.358990/post-4774227 And this is a good clear video of them in their anemone:
  3. Just to clarify, that's an EB832 you're selling, not the older EB8. The EB832 has 8 x 120v outlets, plus 3 x 1Link ports and 2 x 24vDC accessory ports, and includes per-outlet power monitoring on the 120v outputs which the older EB8 does not provide. It's a much more feature-rich item than the EB8. For full details, see my Apex Hardware Overview tutorial article: https://www.reef2reef.com/ams/apex-hardware-overview.775/
  4. @Lexinverts is gunning for the most lights of anyone else in the club. 🤣
  5. Sorry to see this go, but I know how life can get in the way. For those interested in more details about this setup, this was my original tank purchased in 2018, then heavily modified in 2021 as documented in this thread: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/suncrestreefs-reefer-xl-425-rebuild.795310/
  6. Sorry I'll miss this meeting. I'm still testing positive for covid, though all my symptoms cleared up about 3 days ago and I'm feeling fine. Hope everyone has fun today! And say Hi to Daniel for me.
  7. Unfortunately our forum software doesn't allow any easy way to look up your own membership expiration, but I believe it will send you a renewal notice when it's about to expire. Using my Admin console access, I looked up your membership and see it's good through November 27, 2022. If anyone else would like to know their expiration date, you can send me a PM.
  8. Why should you pay to become a PNWMAS Supporting Member??? Several reasons: We have 4,348 registered website members, but only 144 paid Supporting Members. Membership only costs $24 per year for an individual, or $30 per year for a Family membership. Paid members receive a number of benefits: One free raffle ticket at all club events (two tickets for Family memberships) Member-only raffles Member-only Classified ads Member-only Group buys Access to the club's loaner PAR meters Limited Grow Out competitions Access to Officer/Board nominations and voting Larger profile picture Larger message inbox capacity What do membership dues pay for? In addition to revenue from raffle ticket sales and vendor sponsorships, over the past year your membership dues allowed us to: Raffle off over $6,000 of prizes including aquariums, lights, pumps, skimmers, controllers, test kits, and many other items. Provide over $2,000 worth of food and beverages at club meetings. We had two prominent guest speakers at club meetings. We invested in club items such as a video projector for meeting presentations, and Zoom video conferencing to allow for remote meeting participants. We’re planning a big Holiday Meeting in December with more great raffle prizes. Website hosting, image storage, email processing, spam filtering, and business registration fees. None of us Officers or Board Members receive any compensation. We are all volunteers to make this club successful. Without all of our Supporting Members, we would just be a basic web support forum. But instead, we strive to maintain a local interactive club with in-person and virtual meetings, prizes, food & drink, guest speakers, contests, and a local support group that doesn’t hesitate to help each other out when someone needs to move a tank, has an emergency, or just has basic reefing questions. We exist for you, but we also exist because of you. I am proud of my fellow club Officers and Board Members who all work behind the scenes to keep this club alive and thriving. The fact that I don’t even have an aquarium anymore due to life events, but yet choose to remain active as PNWMAS Treasurer demonstrates how impressed I am with this club, and I am committed to seeing to its continued success and remaining a part of this wonderful community of reefing hobbyists. If you’re not yet a paying Supporting Member, please consider subscribing to help support this amazing group, and to take advantage of the benefits we offer. 9. Yes, my old diamond goby (now owned by @obrien.david.j) frequently made big piles, and occasionally would bury small frags on the tank bottom. I eventually learned to simply not place anything important on the sand bottom, and also removed some sand so it's not too deep. On a related note, here's a video of the goby preparing his burrow for the night before diving under the sand:
  10. Thanks for posting the photos! Bummed that I couldn't make it, but glad to see everyone having a great time. Congrats to all the raffle winners!
  11. Still available to pick up at your convenience, if you like. Send me a PM if interested.
  12. I have a piece that’s 12” x 9.5” in black. Free if you’d like to pick it up in Beaverton. Might be a long drive from Vancouver, though.
  13. Before the pandemic we held meetings nearly every month. During the pandemic, we cancelled all the in-person meetings, but held a variety of raffles, contests, and giveaways to keep people interested and active in the club. So far this year we've had in-person meetings in April, May, June, and now our upcoming August meeting. We're also planning something for October, and a holiday party in early December, so you still have a few more upcoming chances to join us!
  14. I used my iPhone on a tripod with a clip-on orange filter: And here's a timelapse of a goniopora opening up after first adding it to the tank:

  19. FYI: The Apex can control both the pump speed and direction. This setup originally came from my old tank where I had it run forward at 80% for 30 seconds, then 80% in reverse for 10 seconds in a repeating schedule during the day, then switch to 50% forward for 30 seconds and 50% reverse for 10 seconds at night. I can provide sample Apex programming for anyone interested. This setup requires an Apex with an available 0-10v variable speed port. This means if you have the Apex-EL, it does not include any 0-10v ports, so that would require the separate VDM module. But if you have the Apex Classic or the full Apex 2016 model, those include the 0-10v ports.
