  1. What a great day! Thank you @Brittany for organizing and hosting the meeting. Your home and tank are both stunningly beautiful, and we couldn’t have hoped for better weather. We’re spending the rest of the weekend in Netarts and had a perfect view of the sunset on the beach this evening.
  2. The weather forecast for Tillamook on Saturday looks great!
  3. It's too bad their website is still offline. I think that would have cleared up the confusion. But based on the website URL (https://www.whiskeycreekshellfishhatchery.com/), I'm guessing the Shellfish Hatchery is the one we're planning for.
  4. @Brittany, can you confirm that is the correct address? When I look at Google Maps, there is a Whiskey Creek Shellfish Hatchery, and also a Whiskey Creek Fish Hatchery. They are two miles apart from each other. I think the address you posted is the Fish Hatchery, not the Shellfish Hatchery. Which one is correct? Whiskey Creek Shellfish Hatchery 2975 Netarts Bay Dr Tillamook, OR 97141 - or - Whiskey Creek Fish Hatchery 7660 Whiskey Creek Rd Tillamook, OR 97141
  5. Today I finally discovered where to see your Supporting Member expiration date. Just click the Store link, then Manage Purchases: If you're checking from a handheld device, you can access the Store link by first clicking on the 3-line Menu icon at the top:
  6. Very interesting. Is the kole tang still in the west tank?
  7. Posting this in the Out Of Bounds forum. Is anyone planning to travel to see the total solar eclipse that will cross North America on April 8th? I just booked a trip to Dallas TX to see it, so I'm crossing my fingers for clear skies. I have only seen two other total eclipses in my life, but only one with clear skies to see the entire event. My first one was in Australia in 2012, but the sky was mostly cloudy so I never got a good view. But in 2017 I saw the most spectacular view from Silverton, OR with perfectly clear skies, and I'm totally hooked on seeing another one. This one will last over 4 minutes compared to only 2 minutes in 2017. Here's the path: More details here: https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/future-eclipses/eclipse-2024/where-when/ Here are some of my photos from 2017:
  8. Unfortunately they let their domain registration expire on Feb 21, so now the website is not accessible. If anyone has contact info for the owners, please contact them to inform them they need to renew their domain name before a scalper buys it and tries to extort extra money to get it back.
  9. My wife & I are looking forward to this tour and meeting! We're going to spend the weekend in Netarts. @Brittany Thanks for hosting and organizing. 🙂
  10. I can confirm this is correct. The pump body is the same for both models. Only the controller module that connects to it is different and the COR 20 includes a separate power adapter: Great idea to keep a backup!
  11. You might find something here: https://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/fittings/schedule-40-pvc/adapters/garden-hose.html
  12. Never heard of them. I wonder if the organizer is aware of our club? If not, then they're missing out on a large customer base.
  13. That was the most "Lions fan" moment ever...Blowing a 17 point lead in a huge game. 🤕 At least there's a sign of hope for next season.
  14. FYI, the Apex Display Module has specific functionality not available through any kind of tablet, phone, or computer running the Fusion app. Because the Display Module plugs directly into the Apex via an AquaBus cable, it can communicate and function even without any network connection. The Display module can be particularly useful since it can show the current IP address, username, and password for the Apex which is not available through the normal Fusion interface or the Apex Classic dashboard. This comes in extremely handy when working with a 2nd-hand Apex when you don't know its password.
  15. Posting this in Out of Bounds for obvious reasons. As a native of Detroit (born and raised there, moved to Oregon when I was 21), I've been a life-long Lions fan even though it typically ends in disappointment. I honestly never thought I'd see the day that the Lions might be on the verge of a Super Bowl opportunity. Anyone else out there feeling as excited and optimistic as I am??? Go Lions!
  16. We may not be out of the woods yet in the Portland area...Here we go again for Thursday night into Friday morning:
  17. I agree with @cjmdh. You can clearly see #3211 in the nighttime photo, and on the daytime photo the "3" is visible on the side and the "211" is visible on the front. The tire position change is likely due to their effort to move the bus in the time between the two photos. All the other logo stickers in each window also match up. We've moved on from being aquarists to weather traffic accident forensics. 🤣
  18. Here it comes. Freezing rain should reach me in Beaverton within the next 30 minutes, then moving into Portland and Vancouver next.
  19. While some of you lost power over the weekend, it looks like tomorrow may put more of us at risk due to freezing rain that could knock down more trees and power lines. I highly recommend you spend today or early tomorrow morning preparing for the worst. If you have a generator, please test it today. If you don't have one, you might consider shopping for one today while there's a chance. At a minimum, have a plan for water movement and heating. Good luck, and stay safe!
  20. Glad your house wasn’t damaged. I still think my whole-house generator was one of my best investments, even now that I no longer have the aquarium. And I love that it automatically runs a self test each month and sends me health reports. Total peace of mind!
