Also, one thing I've found is that even though, rests will show low to no phosphates, usually the algae is absorbing it before there's time for it to accumulate in the water so a 0 reading could actually be a 25 or 30 without the algae cleaning the water. Do you have a protien skimmer or a refugium? That is one thing that worked for me. Elevating your magnesium levels higher will kill bryopsis (hair algae) off as well. Here's the link to the description. I've done this once and it worked like magic, nothing in the tank was harmed except the algae. You will definitely want a protein skimmer if you go this rout as when all the algae died. The skimmer cup quickly filled with a very green liquid. And to answer your question, for me personally, restarting the tank would be to much of a hassle and more work than needed. I'm guessing that if you did restart the tank and kept your regular schedule of feed and and maintenance and what not that the hair algae would just come back after a while.

I believe TPA in salem has some last I checked, though I'm not sure if they have the red banded ones, I saw a quite a few white ones a last week. As for why I think they are a good snail, they can correct themselves if the fall on there back unlike some other snails that cant get back over sometimes as well as these guys are able to reproduce in a reef tank pretty easily compared to other snail varieties.

I couldn't find a 3d model of the specific wrench, I could only find the site that someone sells them. I wonder if that design is patented or not. I might try to build a model this week for a wrench like that.

Also make sure your getting the correct filament type as far as material type. PLA seems to be the easiest and most forgiving but from research and my own 3d printing, I've found that non dye infused ABS is the longest lasting if the part is in saltwater, but is also more difficult to print because of temperature and shrink issues. I'm sure there's others on this forum that have some input. I've definitely printed up many parts for various aquarium equipment to the point that for my personal use on the hobby, it's a necessity.

It kinda looks almost like an ora tricolor acro valida, mine looks very similar and started out all green but when better lights and more growth came about, the purple tips popped up.

Shout out to @ThePremiumAquariumfor this beautiful specimen! Added a new potters angelfish to the tank 3 days ago, so far he's not touched anything but the algae on the rocks and does a better job at it than my confused purple tang who doesn't like seaweed or algae.... Sorry for the potato quality photo...

Won't harm anything, coral will probably enjoy extra food. You might even end up with some baby trochus snails too. If your really worried about it, just watch parameters and have a 10-30% water change ready.

That's how quite a few marine critters reproduce. By expelling reproductive clouds from both the female and male.

Thanks! Zoas are probably the thing that got me into the hobby in the first place. Oddly enough, the only coral I lost in the move were all my birds nest which I always thought was a more hardy sps.
