So, my 600G system was chugging along nicely.  Recovered from a aptasia outbreak that would give you nightmares.  

SPS growing, bought some new halide bulbs.  Some cyano was cropping up.  So I threw some chemiclean in the tank. "Hey, are we going to go to dinner? I'm starving!"  "yeah let me dump this in the tank".

It is a foolish man that does anything tank related in haste. 

came home about 2 hours later...was watching TV. Hey? is my pump cavitation.  Open the door... OMG!  Literally probably 20 Gallo s of water on the floor and I have 2 floor drains!!  Looked at my 100 gallon ATO which was at 90 gallons... empty! 

>chemiclean>skimmer foam>remote 5 gallon skimate carboy... you can figure out the rest.  salinity was 1.19.  mixed and added like 6 bags of salt.  day one..1 sps.  day 2.. couple more. following week... 50% dead.  two weeks.. a total of 67 different colonies gone.  

gathered up the stuff that survived.  Got store credit at seahorse.  Going FOWLR.

yes.. monkeyboy is going to have a fowler tank.  AND I AM GOING TO DOSE ALGAE FIX IN IT!!  LOL. 

James at Envision makes QUALITY tanks.  This tank will outlast every single glass tank by a factor of 10!.

I have some acrylic sitting in the shop, could probably whip you up something.  What would your ideal size be?   I think everything I have is 1/2" 

I have a small trout net that I use.  

I downloaded the app and I am using push notifications now.  FWIW, android (the superior phone) automatically sets up push notifications. Apple needs to set them up manually.

OK, here is one you have NEVER had.  A while back I was getting so many high alk alerts that I blocked the number from apex on my cell and took off cell alerts.  Now when I try to add cell alerts fusion says "this recipient can't be used as messages have bounced". 

Restarted, updated.  nothing. 😞

it's officially in-water work time in PNW streams and I have been running myself ragged shocking and removing fish out of work areas. 

cast acrylic is not affected by UV. should still be good to go! 

I have five holes in the bottom of my tank.  Do they make me nervous every now and then? yes.  Do I get massive flow in five seperate locations from a single pump that never needs to be cleaned?  also yes.

I use lye all the time to recharge di resin.  The only thing it does is raise the PH to crazy amounts, it doesn't have any detergent qualities.   So essentially, there is no use in using lye.  Just use dawn and a hot water rinse. 

Fish yes, anything else.. No.  I emailed the ministry of the environment about taking some sand home.  Nope.  

Again.. not good optics at all catching and bagging up reef inhabitants.  

Whoever buys this better have a sander and polisher on hand.  Could have it looking like new in a long weekend.  

I have that same reactor.  It is great !!!! 

OK gang, Sold 5 packs and have two left.  These are amazing torches. They are life changing.

Well water.  On the plus side you can recharge the resin with lye.   On the plus, plus side I don't pay for water, sewer, or storm water fees. 

It's fine for a bit. Especially if you burn through it slowly.  I go through a whole canister per 100 gallon 😞

Without a doubt.  Bigger is easier.  

I once left my auto top of pump run.. emptied the entire 30 gallons of RO water into the tank. 

Salinity changed by .01. 

That said.. I do have to keep 800 gallons of water at 78 degrees all year.

From what you have said.... don't start an sps tank. 

Get a tank going, I will give you some free sps frag.  You can't watch them melt away, than say.. phew, at least I didn't throw away $500

Your local weed growing store will have it.  It comes in a clear bottle because they are too stupid to realize that sunlight degrades it.. but I digress, it is only $30 instead of lab grade that is around $70 after haz shipping fees.
