    Back when my tank had zero phosphate, I dosed Spectracide stump remover mixed with RO water.  Due to its chemical makeup, you can accurately dose based on water volume to increase PO4 to a specific ppm value.  I lost the link to an online calculator, but if you Google it you might be able to find the formula.  Spectracide is available at Home Depot or other stores with a garden center.

  2. Best pieces you will find are from Tom Barr. I’m not entirely sure he is still selling, but it is worth looking into. 
     

    Locally I’ve seen manzanita up near the entrance to the PCT along HWY 20. 
     

    I’m planning on setting up a 48x24x16 soon, let me know if you find a source or can confirm that Tom is still selling.
