  1. Yikes I would replace the pump if it overheats but that's me, I had a heater malfunction a while back and anything that overheats is OUT. On the other hand I don't even use heaters now and rely on all my pumps (return, two skimmer pumps and a reactor pump) for steady heat (tank stays at ~78) so you betcha if one overheats it's gone... I don't know what kind of pump those skimmers use but that's a scary wait and see thing for me in case it acts up again and continues over heating while you're at work or something, especially if you don't have something set up to alert you it's happening (which fortunately you do!) Maybe someone else can offer better advise since I've personally never actually owned one [emoji39] Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  2. He's located by Washington square, I believe it took a couple days for him to get back to me... I don't know if he's on here much anymore, maybe try messaging him? Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  3. Aww I wish this existed a while back on my old tank before I upgraded, I'd have paid you to borrow them!! Algae scrubber took care of it for me and my tanks have never been more spotless of algae since... I've heard of people loaning or renting these guys out tank to tank so they don't starve. Never had one though because I was worried they would run out of food, maybe you can find someone that has an issue with it in their tank. Hope you find someone soon... 4. Thanks, looks like I might have found one, really just looking for a spare since I don't have a spare for this one. Have spares of most everything but this! Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  5. Mine too, that's when I go straight to the site... Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  6. [emoji50] I don't know how the Wife would feel about him being on here while in France lol. Funny thought though [emoji23] something I'd do my husband would probably hide my phone Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  7. Looking for a spare return pump for my 50 gallon, as of now I'm using a Danner model 5 mag drive 500 gph and it's great so looking for something similar. I just would like to have a couple spares. Let me know what you have, price location. Thanks!! Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  8. Really? Nobody has an old 20 gallon hood/light hoarded lol? I'll give it a few days then probably just buy a new one for her... Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  9. Have you contacted Zoolander on this forum?? He has a couple 5 gallon acrylic ones I believe for $20? I recently bought a $400 skimmer from him for $40!! Check a few pages back under the classified section. Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  10. Need a glass lid and light for a freshwater guppy tank for my sister in law, I gave her an old 20 gallon and stand, filter heater etc just need a glass lid or hood with light fixture nothing special, fish only tank. Thanks! Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  11. 37 gallons do exist lol! My first reef tank was a 37, 30" long pretty deep tank if I remember correctly, all I remember was it was a 37 gallon 30" long [emoji3] I think I recently saw a 37 on Craigslist Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  12. I have a list lol! I'm doing an Anenome Tank with Bubble tips (all kinds) Rock Flowers and Maxi Minis, Welso Brain corals on sand bed. I did something similar a few years ago and loved it, then my tank crashed due to a heater malfunction [emoji22] so I want to do my new tank the same but with harder to find corals (of course) still have several on my list, I'll probably be looking for them for a while since they're hard to come by! Even having a tough time finding them online. I'm mainly looking for a larger red Welso (heck I'll buy any size!) A metallic green and all colors Rock Flowers and Maxi Minis but I have specifics listed...so you're not alone! There's only so much room in tanks and I know I find myself staring at my tanks fantasizing about what would look good and where to put it... Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk

  14. I don't know exactly what yours is doing but I've seen mine do strange looking things only to find out that's what they do when they expel waste, lights go out etc. If your parameters are good and your other corals seem good I'd just keep an eye on it. Some of my mushrooms I've known were budding when I'd see an extra mouth form, others I'd just notice a tiny mini shroom form next to the original. My little red rock Flower Anenome (I now know is a male) I've seen do lots of crazy worrisome things [emoji10] I've had this thing ~10 years and couple years ago found out it was a male when it starting releasing sperm clouds lol. I've seen it look like it's turning inside out, stretch, you name it... Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk

  17. OMG I second a holding tank!! You always plan on doing it as quickly as possible but things happen and come up. It happened when we moved a few years ago and what I thought would only take three hours took almost twelve!! I recommend putting up a holding tank, just recently did this when I upgraded (what should have taken a weekend took almost two weeks) so that holding tank could save you!! I put a good chunk of filter floss in my filter socks the weeks before for the holding tank then when the day came I put my fish, corals, rocks with Coral in holding tank and the rest of my rock in 5 gallon buckets with powerheads and once I FINALLY got everything in it was a life saver! Everything made it. Make sure you have plenty of RODI water made and ready, heated all that stuff. Leaks may happen from things getting moved and bumped (one reason mine took longer) Good luck and just try to think of everything you can before, but definitely do the holding tank. 18. Looks moldy, not enough water running through it? Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  19. Mine did something similar, not quite as extreme as yours lol but would get excited after feeding still searching for food in and on the rocks and would start tossing frags around. I just glued down anything that wasn't already glued and it was taken care of. Hopefully you will have the same luck! Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  20. Wow impressive!! Similar to the one I was looking to buy on Amazon [emoji3] I put a $ tree LED bulb in there in the meantime and am shocked at how much growth I've gotten from a dollar tree bulb lol. Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  21. Wow that is gorgeous [emoji7] Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  22. Great [emoji4] thanks for the reply, they were exactly what I was looking for as far as price as well. I wanted to stay in the ~$400 range and still be able to use them in an upgrade down the road if I wanted so the 32" size is great for that. I hope everything goes well for your tank in the future, I feel your pain believe me [emoji31] I had a heater malfunction about a year ago on one of my tanks while we were out of town for the weekend... Came back to a horrid smell and I knew immediately it was one of my tanks. I pretty much just collapsed in front of the tank not knowing where to start. Lost a lot that day but my Clownfish bothered me most, had those guys for several years. I've taken some precautions since that hard lesson though. Good luck moving forward!! 23. What do you think of the SB reef lights? I'm buying the 32" with timer Friday. How are they doing for you after this long? I know they come with the 2 year warranty which is nice. Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  24. That's so true, wouldn't have thought of that right away but the coralline growth would kinda ruin it. That's be a tough job but I still like it [emoji16] Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
  25. Looks amazing! [emoji7] Sent from my BLU R1 HD using Tapatalk
