  1. Heck of a place for a split to show up! I think it is still recovering. Going to try and move it. See it??
  2. My banner is showing, glad to support. Even though there are hard feelings lurking still, all in all this community remains a great place to network with others who love the hobby.
  3. That could very well be, it could have just been lucky timing of applying the patch.
  4. Sea Hares are unbelievably good. You would need him for a few days then probably be looking to rehome him though, they are that good!
  5. That is a way better pic! Unfortunately I am terrible at IDs, and have no good idea other than generalizations. Because I am so bad at remembering, I try to take a pic every time I get one and put it in onenote for future ref. Would have guessed 'Candy Apple Green' but there are at least 4 or 5 varieties of that out there that use that name. Either way they look nice!
  6. Possibly one benefit is that the waste water from membrane one turns around and goes through a second membrane. In theory cutting the waste water in half. I have no experience though with the 150 GPD membranes. I am running that BRS second membrane and it was a breeze to setup. It made 180 gallons in 19 hours a couple days ago or about 127 Gallons Per Day. One other difference, the second membrane requres allot of water pressure. I had to go to my pressure reducing valve on the water supply and up the pressure a tad.
  7. Do you remember where you picked em up? It is so tough with the phone white balance stuff to ID.
  8. I don't totally understand the question? Here is a good old article on the topic of RODI if it can help http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-05/rhf/index.php
  9. At first it wasn't clear why. Turns out they wouldn't let me connect anymore until firmware was updated. Went ahead and followed the instruction here: https://www.neptunesystems.com/firmware/ Painless process, just wanted to share that in case someone else has the same issue.
  10. Yes, heaters, hand raised 4 heaters, two temp probes, one apex. Thought on two probes: 1) I had a spare port for another 2) If one probe is somehow accidentally high and dry (reading 72), the other is there for a sanity check. Both heaters are on one apex outlet, so that is not good if that relay fails on. I really need to split them apart. Maybe a good project this afternoon...
  11. My pleasure, glad to share. It sure stinks to lose fish in QT.
  12. Just sharing, because many of us have been there and feel your pain... A couple of good things to keep handy for the QT: 1) An ammonia detector 2) Ammonia remover http://www.aquavitro.com/products/alpha.html These are handy to have if you get an unexpected spike. I love Randy's suggestion to have backup filter material full of good bacteria handy as well. It is tough keeping QT cycled, and then there is often overfeeding because fish don't always eat right away. I run a big a** skimmer too in the QT, to help with export. It gives some lee way for overfeeding and keeps the water quality up. Well good luck!
  13. Exciting stuff, congrats!
  14. I do miss the longer edit functionality. always enjoyed that about this site. It is too bad that a few who are prone to arguing are affecting the ability of the rest of us to use that feature of the forum.
  15. If you can only find white, it is pretty easy to paint with that Krylon style paint. I don't have any scraps that size unfortunately.
  16. Me on the right in both pics.
  17. You too Arsonmfg, that is awesome. I will definitely be bidding on some of your goods.
  18. Thanks, that is awesome you guys. You probably hear the news, he passed away this morning. More than ever this is a great opportunity to help as his family is going through a very difficult time.
  19. Dang, so frustrating.... Frustrating for BRS, frustrating for us. Its a brave new world we live in...
  20. Thanks PeteRock! Some guys are having luck with hawkfish that don't have shrimp. So far so good here...
  21. Oh did I mention this is in a 10 gallon with some tangs! Heheheh, not!!!
  22. It looks cool for sure, the reviews make it sound like a good improvement. Too high end for me, I run the cheap Jebaos not even the RWs!
