  1. I was lucky enough to purchase the very well known Suncrestreef tank. I have kept a lot of the equipment from his entire setup and changed a few things. I transferred all my livestock over from my previous setup and for now have everything finished. I may change the aquascape a few times before I’m fully happy with it, but with needing to have the transfer done in one night, after an 11 hour day at work. This is what I’ve settled one for the time being. I love how well it’s plumbed and how quiet everything is. Here’s a breakdown of most of the equipment
Reefer 425xl with a custom made square aluminum channel tank brace to allow for the bigger sump
Trigger systems sapphire 34 sump with fleece roller
Nyos 160 skimmer with the swabbie added
    2 radion gen 5 xr15 pros
Apex with orp, salinity, temp, ph, gro fuge light, Cor20 return, Neptune atk, fmm to monitor the flow through the uv and return
2 gyres with ice cap through the apex
    300 watt brs titanium heater
I’m not great at wire management without a control panel so I’m thinking of having a panel built to hide all the wire in the future. Livestock is as follows
    2 percs
    5 chromis
    1 Hawaiian yellow tang
    1 hippo tang
    1 coral beauty
    1 algae blenny
I might add one or 2 more fish but that’s undecided.
I have a full clean up crew from reef cleaners for a 120 gallon tank. I can’t wait to start getting corals added but I’m just letting the tank settle for a couple months as the previous tank was fowlr.

Maybe I will just get a roller mat and not run a skimmer. 🤔

My new setup has a roller mat, I’ve been doing some research and some people love them and some people say they strip so much they have to dose nitrates. I’m going to keep a close eye on my system I’ll keep you posted!

  3. Text is best I work 55-60 hour weeks starting this week and I’m also gone at utv takeover next week so text is best but feel free to pm me and I’ll check as often as possible 5032674537

You can't drill tempered glass, bot not all tanks have tempered glass.  Test to make sure that the glass isn't tempered prior to drilling.  Google it.

Ah yea I skim read his reply 😂 if the panel is tempered I wouldn’t recommend trying it. Most of the smaller tanks are not tempered, I know even side panels on like a 40 breeder are not but definitely steer clear of the tempered tanks for trying to drill them.

Hi... nice setup but beyond my scale that this point.

However, I do have question about the live rock sump in glass aquarium show in pics. How did you drill the hole in the tempered glass successfully?  Most DIY sites caution about glass shattering...

    Thanks for sharing technique.

There are drill bits made specifically for glass, I didn’t drill this one myself but I’ve drilled quite a few in the past. If you order a good drill bit and take your time, it’s really not that bad. I practiced on old cheap tanks before I drilled my first 40 breeder. There are quite a few videos on YouTube also.

  6. I am going a different route with my tank so I’m selling the 5 foot one I have. Glass is in great shape,  No major scratches, comes with a 60x18x21 100 gallon tank, center glass overflow with acrylic weir, custom built stand, 20 gallon long sump, with a 10 gallon plumbed into it for a low flow refugium, I have a custoM built light rack I will include with it, and can also include custom built kessil light mounts if you want to run kessils over it. 5 foot dual bulb Geissman razor retro fit kit, ATB 840 skimmer with swabbie, pump for fuge, and a 300 watt heater.

You will NEED, main lighting, return pump, power heads, live rock, sand, etc. it’s very close to a turn key setup. I’m in Oregon city. No trades. I can lower the price if you don’t want the skimmer and swabbie.

Price for everything is 800 bucks. I will give you the two frag racks in the tank covered in Zoas, gsp, pulsing Xenia, and I can likely give you some live rock that’s been running in the tank for years to help you cycle if you’re starting fresh.
