I have a pair that have never spawned. I also have 4 blue stripes that I am playing with. You will need a kreisel and use the green water method. Pledosophy is 100% correct. Raising the fry is a LOT of work. The pipe fish have a lot fewer babies and it takes a commitment of feeding them several times a day for 3-4 months. I should of turned the lights out and save myself the headache.

I have 2 Psychedelic, 3 Targets, and 1 Red Scooter. They take about a year to a year and a half to reach adult size. if the mandarin is wild caught most of the time the dorsal (top) fin tip is missing from them being net caught. A lot of people (including myself) have mistaken these for females. The dorsal fin will grow back in time! So I would keep the fish for a while before adding a male in. 2 males mandarins will fight depending on the size of their environment. If you got a female, that's awesome!

Both are great animals. Regals are tough to keep. Seahorses requirements are much different from what angel fish need. Seahorses can be kept with more non-aggressive species like mandarin fish, gobies, fire fish, pipe fish, and file fish. I keep my seahorses with all these types of fish except for the filefish because I haven't found a pair of harlequin yet . Regals need a lot of room and seahorse can be kept in smaller aquarium. IMO I wouldn't keep the two fish together.
