  1. J Haha nice, I bought a few of those motors thinking of fabbing one up. I have a Swabbie already though so I lost interest lol
  2. Nice stuff! Want to give us the spec sheet on the setup? Any FTS with all the corals?
  3. But seriously, test phos, nitrate, and tds of RO water and we'll probably have an answer pretty quickly on what the problem is. If your filters are brown, I'd at least swap those out ASAP.
  4. Id bet "the Wet Spot" in Portland probably does. I think that's where I got them in my freshwater days.
  5. Wow, super clean! Loving the scape! Keep it up!
  6. Close call with the snail (scary) You've got some sweet frags growing out!
  7. Supposedly it works they are just refining everything. It was supposed to come out early 2014 and now they are saying they hope to be shipping out mid 2015. If it works they get my money! No more water testing = priceless lol
  8. That's pretty sweet, especially for the price. I'm still holding out for the mindstream monitor...if it ever comes out :'(
  9. nice! Glad that beast is finally kicking butt now! As fun as it would be to mass produce these, I don't want to. Since its a Chinese product, they would probably buy one and just copy it and sell as their own or just make one of they see them selling. If people want them, I will make them individually for some people.
  10. Sounds like the same symptoms I came across. I would try and turn it and it was super hard to turn. This is because the bearing is essentially locked in place and it's only letting it slip from the rubber top slipping. You will need a set of ring clip pliers to get that retaining clip off so you can get the impellor off to mess with the bearing. The oring isn't really necessary for submerged pumps but I'd leave it to keep max effeciency (no leaking loss). Maybe your not installing right, it just slips around the circle on the motor side.
  11. And I removed the green water wheel before attempting this
  12. The bearing is where the arrow points, under the clear plastic piece. You could also soak in vinegar to be safe.
  13. That huge oring is the "seal" between the pump motor housing and volute
  14. There is a ceramic bearing on the shaft. Make sure it spins freely on the shaft. The one I was working on did this and I had to grab ahold of the bearing (with pliers) and turn it to get it free again. Almost seems like it should be lubricated but it's ceramic so idk why it's happening. If that's not it, not sure :-/
  15. Float switch just crapped out finally, anyone local have one by chance? Vertical orientation. Thanks!
  16. Wow...want that ultra tort (drooler) 2nd in line, any pics of the mother colony?
  17. October Update 8 polyps, getting some good size on this bad boy! (rock2) Front: Top:
  18. Also, what's your salinity at? Keeping it at 1.026 will help keep your levels up.
  19. You can still pickup, just send him a msg on eBay after the auction and he'll send you an invoice without the shipping cost in it.
  20. Yikes that's really low, but take it easy bringing it back up. Your corals have slowly adjusted to the lower levels so don't panic and shock them dosing like crazy. I had a similar issue and slowly brought it back up and things recovered fine. Try and get that Mag up in the 1300s at least and slowly dose cal and alk. It sounds like your outrunning the kalk is adding, so 2 part should be initiated to get things back to normal again.
  21. Please come trade me anything (but yumas) for some neon green ones lol, they are going ape in my tank! Have time this weekend.
  22. Hit up TAP plastics in Portland. They are cheap and come in 3-6 ft lengths.
  23. Nice work on the stand! I personally think a 90 is a great size for stability and long term success. I think you'll enjoy it.
